Why Generic Vastu Rules Often Fail in Real Homes

Search for Vastu advice online and you will find hundreds of rules stated with total confidence: never place a mirror here, never sleep facing there. Applied without diagnosis, most of them do nothing — and a few make matters worse.

A direction is not a prescription

Direction is one input. The activity assigned to a zone, the elemental character of that zone, the built mass around it and the horoscopes of the people living there all modify what the direction actually means in a given home. Two flats on the same floor of the same tower can need opposite corrections.

What a proper assessment looks like

A usable Vastu assessment begins with the plan, the orientation, photographs and the occupants' charts. Defects are then graded — because not every defect is worth correcting, and a household with limited budget deserves to know which three changes matter most.

Correction without demolition

Structural change is a last resort. Placement, activity reassignment, material, colour and correctly specified remedial instruments resolve the majority of cases in occupied homes and rented flats alike.
